When do you need to crop a PDF?
PDFs exported from presentation software, ebooks, or scanned pages often have large white borders that waste space when printed or viewed. Cropping tightens the content area, reduces visual padding, and gives your document a cleaner appearance.
How to crop a PDF
- 1Open Crop PDF in PDFStack.
- 2Upload your PDF.
- 3Enter the margin values to remove in points (top, right, bottom, left).
- 4Click Crop PDF and download.
All processing happens locally in your browser — no files are uploaded to any server.
Common Uses
Removing excessive margins from a scanned book, cropping whitespace from an exported presentation, trimming a PDF to print without borders, resizing a PDF to fit a specific paper size.
Frequently Asked Questions
What unit are the crop values in?
Points. 72 points = 1 inch = approximately 25.4mm.
Will cropping reduce file size?
Cropping sets a visible crop box but the underlying page content remains — file size changes minimally. For size reduction, use Compress PDF.
Can I crop individual pages differently?
Currently PDFStack applies the same crop box to all pages. For per-page control, use Organize PDF to split first.
Is it private?
Yes. Cropping is entirely client-side.
